About Carpet Defenders

Carpet Defenders started in 2022, when my wife Kay and I decided there was a better way to clean carpets and upholstery than the harsh chemical treatments a lot of the trade was still using. We wanted something safe enough for our own kids and pets, and figured other families across Birmingham wanted the same thing.

We work as a team on every job. I handle the equipment and the heavier upholstery work, Kay's usually the one making sure the customer's home is looked after properly while we're in it, dust sheets down, nothing knocked over, no mess left behind. Between us we've built the business on doing the job properly rather than rushing to the next one.

Every carpet, rug and sofa we clean uses eco-friendly, child- and pet-safe solutions. No harsh chemical smell, no waiting days for a room to dry out and be usable again. It sounds like a small thing until you've got a toddler crawling on the floor an hour after we've left.

We cover Quinton, where we're based, out across South Birmingham and into Halesowen, Dudley, Solihull and the wider West Midlands. Most jobs are booked within the week of calling, sometimes the same day if we're already in your area.

Four years in, it's still just the two of us on every job. No subcontractors, nobody you haven't met turning up at your door. That's not going to change as the business grows.
